I drove down to the zoo from Rancho Santa Margarita. In daylight the roads are so different. Did I count the number of lanes correctly? 15 at one point? I have only had one incident of driving on the wrong side and that was luckily a back street. So long as I have someone in front of me I am fine lol.
This zoo has been on my bucket list for a very long time. I have had many people tell me over the years that it is one of the most beautiful zoos in the world. It is up there with our beautiful Sydney Taronga Zoo, although I may be a little biased. Taronga has one of the most spectacular views.
The most popular animal at the Zoo was the panda. It was the only part of the zoo which had a queue today and both pandas were asleep with their butts facing everyone.

I was impressed with the polar bears, flamingos, giraffes and the resort the gorillas play in.

The zoo has an outback Australia section. Home away from home

I love all of the photos Edi and you are looking great. I love the flamingos; remember when they were at Taronga Zoo?

I don’t remember going to Taronga until I was in my 20s and even then I don’t remember the flamingos as they really stood out to me this trip
